Ungooroo Aboriginal Corporation

Our medical services at Ungooroo are provided to local Aboriginal people by general practitioners from the Awabakal Medical Centre. Optical services are also provided at Ungooroo. We can also link local Aboriginal people to Aboriginal sexual health workers and mental health practitioners as well as transport to dental services at Awabakal Medical Centre in Newcastle.

Ochre Opportunity Hub - Upper Hunter

​The Opportunity Hubs initiative responds to feedback from Aboriginal communities emphasising the need for pathways to assist Aboriginal young people in the transition from school into tertiary education, training and/or employment. The initiative aims to better coordinate and utilise existing resources and to improve accessibility to appropriate services – not to create new programs.​

Upper Hunter Youth Services

Upper Hunter Youth Service offers support to young people and their families in a variety of ways from counselling to providing support, advocacy and referrals.  Our Service provides support in Muswellbrook, Singleton and the Upper Hunter including Aberdeen, Denman, Merriwa, Murrurundi, Scone and surrounding areas.   Appointments can be made by contacting us during office hours.

Wonnarua Nation Aboriginal Corporation

The Wonnarua Nation Aboriginal Corporation was established in 1999 and represents the Wonnarua people. It focuses on nurturing the history and culture of the Wonnarua Nation, improving the health and education of its members and managing investments to sustain the Corporation’s work.
The Wonnarua people are traditional landowners in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales. The Corporation is currently developing a map to define the traditional boundaries of Wonnarua country, based on written and oral historical records.

NRAA Northern Region Aboriginal Alliance

NRAA has been developed in response to the NSW Government’s Aboriginal Affairs Strategic Plan OCHRE: Opportunity, Choice, Healing, Responsibility and Empowerment.
